The WX 200 temperature/humdity sensor was producing extreme ranges with very high daily max temps and really low Rh readings.
Thus, in July 2007 I ordered a Ambient Weather SRS100LX Temperature
and Humidity Solar Radiation Shield. After a few weeks, I came to the realization that my sensor was dying after 10 years. In early August,
I went in search of a new sensor on the internet. I came across a unused brand new Radio Shack WX 200 weather station on craigslist. The location
was improved for temperature/humidity sensor and anemometer. The temp/rh sensor was placed in the shield adjacent to the Davis one on the Northside
of the house along the fence. The anemometer is placed below the davis one on the tower. The readings have improved greatly. Both weather stations
compare very well for temperature, dew point, humidity readings, usually within 2-3ºF for temp/dew pt and 5-10% Rh. The rain and wind readings
continue to be lower but within reason.
As of July 2007, both weather stations remain on seperate computers.
This Davis is connected to a Antec Outside Computer Tower with the following:
This Radio Shack is connected a newer Emachines T2825 (an upgraded computer using my Grandapa's old PC):
Both computers still share a single monitor using Belktin dual computer sharing port.
