The relative cool spring continues with only 5 90º days by the end of the month.
May continued to be a month in transition as cold front passage occurred early in the
month with 3 record Low HiS 5/4-5/6. By the middle of month, the synoptic pattern
changed towards a summer pattern but enhanced by shortwave troughs enhancing the rainfall
which was slighly below normal but above normal for the year. By the end of the month,
the Bermuda ridge became the dominate feature with very little rain except the last 2 days
of the month.
